Jane Griffiths is a television producer, writer, artist and traveler. She lives in Auckland Park, Johannesburg. She was born in Pietermaritzburg and her childhood playground was a never-ending garden – literally.

Since graduating from UCT, Jane’s career has been in the media, from working on newspapers and magazines to producing television inserts and documentaries. Together with husband, Keith Knowlton, she runs a successful television production company.

After visiting a friend’s garden, she was inspired by the red, yellow, purple, brown and orange chillies in such a huge variety of shapes and sizes. Back home she scattered seeds and sat back to watch her chillies grow. This was the beginning of a passion which has never abated.

After spending time helping a friend start a vegetable garden, she realised two things: one; over the years she had gathered a vast store of knowledge on how to grow organic vegetables, and two; she needed to share this information.
