After a career in mining and stock-broking, Roger Webster started to follow his first love: the history, the places, and – more particularly – the events, happenings and lives of the peoples of our magnificent and unique country. This has taken him all over South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana Namibia, etc, ferreting out people and events that shaped and changed them. He writes stories about South Africa’s colorful past.

Roger Webster has been broadcasting every Saturday morning on SAFM WEEKEND, under the heading "Fireside Chats". This has been running for over 4 years.
